- 01:57 – 02:23: Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Breast cancer is the second most common cancer worldwide (1). Despite significant advancements in early detection and treatment, it remains a leading cause of cancer-related deaths due to late diagnosis and limited access to advanced treatments (1, 2). Breast cancer screening methods are well established, but many patients do not comply, or tumors can be missed between exams.
In this video, we’ll explore a case report where the SPOT-MAS Multi-cancer Early Detection Test helped identify a positive ctDNA signal. This signal guided the patient to undergo diagnostic imaging and a biopsy (3), which resulted in the confirmation of stage IB breast cancer. The patient successfully underwent surgery for radical treatment.
This timely intervention, initiated from a ctDNA signal, serves as a typical case study illustrating the benefits of multi-cancer early detection.
As we approach Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October 2024, we hope more people will take proactive steps in caring for their health by scheduling regular check-ups and screenings, as early detection can save lives.
